Cage Nuts consist of a nut in a spring steel retainer which envelopes the nut. The cage has two wings that when compressed allow the cage to be inserted into a square hole. They're used in blind assembly areas like vehicle frames and bodies, allowing for easy alignment and installation of screws. The cage nut fits loosely to provide some adjustment and is removable which allows the nut to be changed or replaced with another size. Panels can be pre-punched to accept cage nuts for optional add-ons. Finish: .0002 Zinc & Wax.
